Best out there

I am amazed at how easy it is to get LaTeX running on a phone. And packages download effortlessly. This program is well done.

pretty good.

Havent experienced any troubles for over 11 months.

Great App!!

Ive been TeXing for years so Im still getting used to the differences between iPad LaTeXing and computer LaTeXing, but Ive had no problems with the app!! I love the ease of inserting a graphic!

Great potential, but Frustrating!

This is a wonderful idea. But, it has gnawing and deeply annoying issues. For one, the developer seems to have his/her own way of selecting text. The standard methods that Apple recommends and that 99% of all other apps use (and users are used to) are not adopted here. This is frustrating. It would be ok if this app has a better way of selecting text for cut/paste. But, it does not. Please adopt the standard iOS method for this: on iPads, two-finger on keyboard should allow one to select text and then a little pop-up should appear with options to cut, copy, paste. The selection part works, but the pop-up doesnt show... making it useless to select the text! On iPhones, one uses the finger directly on the text and then drags. Unfortunately, here, you cant drag to select. So, I have no idea how to select text to cut and paste. This is obviously important for an editor! Too bad, because all the other Latex stuff works just fine. It seems like the hard problems were solved, but the app fails in the basic but essential aspects of a proper editor interface.

Beamer packages please...

There are packages to add.

A must have!

Excellent app! At last I can leave home without my laptop and nothing but my iPad! I use this app as both: 1) Mathematics Teacher 2) Researcher I would definitely recommend this App!

Bravo

Since last update the missing packages for french support or any other function are downloaded. Application is perfect for me. A must have... Bravo !

Does the job

On-board typesetting and reliable Dropbox sync: thats all Im after and this app delivers it. I do however like the fact that after typesetting, the pdf opens at the exact spot I had been editing. I recommend this as a no-nonsense solution.

Good app, fascinating perspectives, implementation still not perfect

I am thrilled to see a LaTeX app come on the iPad. This just change completely the possibilities to use of this device. I purchased it to be able to still work on documents on the go. It often needs to download stuffs when compiling, so it sometimes fails to compile, but even then it is very useful to be able to edit the documents on the road, in a plane or in a train. The app is still not perfect. It would greatly benefit from a true search replace. The pdf viewer is often slow / or bugs. Also, it would be extremely useful to be able to send documents by email. The day when I can completely write a research paper or a course on my iPad is still far (I would not like to try any of these without a good version control system anyway), but this app allows me to use some time that would otherwise not be so productive, so I would like to send a bit cheers to the developpers and encourage them to keep up the effort...

Good and usefull

Very good app, and very usefull to me. I use it to take scientific notes and it works perfectly. "" doesnt exists on my external keyboard and I still have to use the virtual kb. Therefore, my typing remains quiet slow... Attention, compiling large documents might take a while...

fills the gap perfectly

I havent tried using more sophisticated packages but so far everything works fine. The editor is nicely adapted for using with Latex and Tex. The font was to big for me, but I discovered how to modify it. The only thing is that selecting text in the editor is a drag. The author of the app doesnt like the magnifying glass tool and has invented his own solution. This works ok, but I cannot do the pinching movement needed to properly select text. Im not a fan of the magnifying glass either, but this isnt the solution.

Best Latex editor!

To me it is the best latex editor for ipad. Local typesetting is perfectly working, and also the keyboard is the best between the apps of tis kind. Indeed the keyboard has back and forth keys. If it would have the possibility to export pdf to other apps (like the ones I use to read and annotate pdf), it would be perfect. One more suggestion: latex syntax is highlighted, but it would be better to improve the contrast.

Very nice

The app is very useful. Completely functional and it really works like a charm. My only sugestion is about the selection tool. It could be just like the standard selection tool of the IOS.

Excellent app!

This app is amazing! One of the bests latex editor I used, perhaps the best. The syncing with Dropbox is perfect, and the compilation is very fast, sometimes even faster than on my computer. I experienced some problems with the syncing a few months ago, but I just reinstalled the app and now everything is fine. This app worth every cent. Do not think that it is expensive. Buy it and you will never have problem on compiling your latex files on iOS devices.

Great for LaTeX User

This app is unique and the only way to create and view LaTeX documents on the iPad. It works smooth and nice as well as the possibility to link with Dropbox, in order to work on different devices . It’s a great product. Please add just more packages or an option to add packages.

Wowereit, LaTeX on iPad

This is really a great app. It works if you dont need too much special packets. For further improving the usability I would suggest to add syntax highlighting, auto completion or file exchange for tex files with other apps.

iOS 6 loads of bugs

Can not leave the compiled view without forcequitting the app. And a way to use the compiled file as pdf would be kinda nice ;-)
