Fantastic app! I do all my LaTex work on my iPad now. Dropbox integration works well.

As a math grad student, this thing is really handy. I can leave my computer at home and wrtie stuff up at a cafe or library or whereever. Its also great for taking notes in a seminar or class. This wont replace your favorite way write LaTex, but it is compatible with your other LaTeX program using DropBox (maybe other methods too, I havent tried) and will definitely give you greater flexibility. Get this for sure.
The app works great and downloads needed packages automatically (needs a connection, of course, wi-fi or cellular) and compiled PDFs look very good. If only some packages were more current. I use some of the tikz derived packages (among others) and have had to manually derive or load the .sty files for compatibility with a LaTex editor on my PCs using Texlive.
I purchased this app to be able to sync LaTeX documents with Dropbox on an iPad. However, the app simply crashes every time I try to connect with DropBox. Developer didnt respond to my report, so I though it was best to let others know.
I highly recommend this powerful app... Suggestions: 1-Better file management 2-Being able to search among all files
This app is great and works wonderfully on the iPad pro. Split screen works great, and files sync reliably. The only two desires I have is for a more traditional text selection system (as a previous reviewer mentioned), and the ability to sync my files via iCloud Drive or other Document Providers. Great app!
Although I use TexMaker on my desktop as my primary TeX editior/compiler, TeX Writer had proven enormously useful. The Dropbox sync feature allows me to organize all my documents between TexMaker and TeX Writer. This product has the limitations of any mobile text editor (too few keys per screen, etc.) however, it compensates in some unique ways, text selection in particular. highly recommend as a secondary editor you can access anywhere.
This is the best app I have. The editor is fast, reliable and the keyboard is very well designed. It allows me to edit documents on the go. It is really great.
Thoughtfully designed LaTeX environment to go, with nice enhancements for navigation and selection, and WebDAV and Dropbox support too. The built-in environment is convenient enough that I havent needed the remote editing options yet.
There have been times when my laptop was dead and I much needed this app for my assignments during class! I love how clean the interface is and how well the app functions!
I have typeset a 420 page LaTeX document heavy with graphics and tables and this app (iPhone 5s) compiles it faster than my laptop! No kidding, it really does. Would like to add words to the spell check dictionary. Thanks for a great app!!
Hands down my favorite LaTeX editor.
If you like write using LaTex this is a great option. Txs guys.
It´s been very useful and for a total newbie quite ease to use.
I cannot access my Dropbox files. The app simply crashes. I have written to the developer but have not received a response. I use two-factor authentication on Dropbox which is probably the source of the problem. The app should be updated. The developer should not ignore email from users especially since this is an expensive app.
On the one hand Im amazed that I can use all kinds of TeX packages including TikZ for diagrams and everything works just fine. It runs reasonably fast too. On the other hand the editor is a bit quirky. Selection for copy and paste is plain weird and things dont seem to be well integrated with the Smart keyboard so I keep having to touch the screen. Itd be nice if the error log could take me straight to my errors but Im not sure the design of TeX makes that easy.
A great app. I am not a Latex power user, but I do rely on it daily for writing and formalizations. I work on a MacBook Pro at home and an iPad Pro on the go. I occasionally fix typos from my iPhone 6. The drop box integration and reliability of the compiler and text editor have made keeping my devices in sync an effortless task. I now worry less about how a I work and more about just working.
Several years ago I got Tex Touch for my iPad. I was happy with it, but then a while ago it just quit working. (I guess it was never updated to more recent IOS updates?) Anyway, I finally got around to getting a new latex compiler for my iPad. I cannot believe how smoothly and intuitively Tex Write works. It compiles smoothly. It works well with drop box. It even allows me to make folders to organize my documents and it was all easy to figure out. I havent been happier with an app yet. Great product! Update some time later: Still incredibly happy with Tex Write.
A month ago, my new PC broke and I was left without a TeX application. TeX Writer allowed me to easily write, format and refine my senior thesis and two talks Ive given recently, and I was able to do so from the comfort of, well, anywhere. Fantastic app, would recommend, 12/10 would download again, etc etc get this.
I never thought that I would find a stand-alone LaTeX app for iOS, but here it is. I have had no problems compiling my documents. I have successfully compiled documents with PicTeX in article, report, book, and memoir document classes! It downloads any missing packages on the fly. I love it. In terms of how much I use it, this app is in the top 5% of all apps on my iPad.
